‘Franz Liszt!? Wasn’t he a superficial show-off who wrote his piano works largely to exhibit his own virtuosity...?’ Many people automatically associate the name of Liszt with snapping strings and rippling piano keys or excessive octave passages that make them dizzy. But it is much less well known that Liszt incorporated countless innovations, such as impressionistic and atonal music, and introduced the piano recital as we know it today. Equally unknown are the various literary and religious influences that are to be found in his works.
Therefore it is high time to free him from the prejudice that has stuck to him for over a hundred and fifty years...

The project Pilgrim Years includes three surround super audio compact discs with the complete and unabridged rendering of Liszt's 'Années de Pèlerinage' by the pianist Yoram Ish-Hurwitz.
